My Web Sites

Find My Voice

This is my first personal attempt at developing a subscription based web site. The site allows companies to find voice over artists.

I baught the domain and then never really got round to developing it. So I pushed on a couple of RSS feeds and put Google AdWords on it to see what happens.

UFO Watch

UFO Watch is the first site I wrote. Its aim was to get more views than Lee Packhams web site(At the time I was very competitive with him). The web site was about UFO's because A friend of mine, Philip Keeler was interested in UFO's. I realised that there was no where to publicly view and report UFO Sightings. It has been going for over 4 years now and is in desperate need of a makeover. It receives between 500 and 1500 page views a day. It contains over 800 UFO reports all collected via visitors. The site has been featured on Juno (www.juno.com), ITV's Cyber Cafe, and WJTV.

ClubPages.co.uk

Ahhh student days. ClubPages.co.uk was my third attempt at building a web site. My second which has now been taken offline was Student Arena. Student Arena had some good ideas but I couldn't market it properly. That gave me the idea of Clubpages. Clubpages is a web site with details of the best clubs in Bournemouth. It goes into more details about the clubs than any other web site at the time. Clubpages is still going but I haven't had time to update the data due to University and such. As soon as the exams are over it will be updated. This site gets around 20 page views a day.

UFO Site Search

My final year dissertation, Loggy was a tool that helps marketers decide whether or not they are getting value for money on advertising campaigns they are running. To test the software I needed a web site that would be advertise on my most popular site, UFO Watch. To maximise the clicks the site had to be about UFOS. I chose to move part of UFO Watch and make it into its own site. That was the birth of UFO Site Search. All the site is, is a directory of links to UFO related sites. At time of writing all the traffic going through the site is generated via UFO Watch.
